Yoshi Nakayama

At the age of 15, Yoshi decided to study aboard and alone he went to Tasmania, Australia to study at a local high school with a focus on music performance and audio design. He then proceeded to the University of Tasmania to major contemporary music to continue the life the multi-cultural environment of Australia. Today, having Tokyo as the base of his music activities, Yoshi writes, performs, and seeks opportunities to collaborate with other musicians with whom can crystalise the music within.
Yoshi enhanced his musical skills with the Australian and international musicians through the diverse styles of music including rock, pop, jazz, soul, latin, fusion, progressive metal and further more. Among the many unique musicians was Paul Bender, his high-school band mate and now the bass player of Hiatus Kaiyote.
Yoshi’s music is often inspired by the natural wonders of Australia and in his songs you could hear the epic beauty of Tasmania. Other main sources of his musical creativities are the 80's rock, video-game music and music from the films. It is remarkable how these traits coincide with the Tassie experiences.
His music has something that will fascinate you, as if it will bring to you the tender atmosphere of the Tasmanian nature and the adventurousness and the forwardness of the rock guitars.
