Revisiting#1 Guitar kid in Manly, Australia

G'day mate! How's it going?

That's right, I am in Australia right now! The picture is from Manly Beach, 30 mins by ferry from Sydney.

I have been in Sydney and Manly for the past two days. It is summer here and in mid-day it was like 33 degrees. I finished 4 bottles of water (3AUD each!) in one afternoon because it was so hot and sun was darn strong! Got sunburned already! Manly has the ultra-marine blue water, white sands, fun loving people, what could I ask for more!?

Anyway, the reason for my visit to Manly is to see my guitar student and his family there. (I used to stay in their garden flat and I taught guitars to their kid in a couple of years ago. ) Yesterday upon my arrival in Manly they welcomed me with big smiles, we had beautiful Australian wines and oysters together and caught up on things. I am so grateful that we still keep in touch and see each other like this today.

Later the night the kid, his name is Sean, and I jammed on the guitars for a bit while the parents were listening to us. Played some old tunes from our lessons, Sean's originals, and some random stuff. Man, I am so proud of Sean that since I have left him he has improved so much on the instrument! He can now write his own music, improvise, use musical terminology and polished his past repatoire well. He is a musician now, I can say! We will keep exchanging emails and I hope to inspire him to broaden his horizon and pursue his passion in music!!!!!

There is a video of his original composition and him playing it but only I'm asking him if I could share his music performance here with you guys! Hope I will get his approval soon!

It is a shame I forgot to take pictures with the family!
